Give Your Curriculum a Change of Scenery.
A visit to the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens gives students the opportunity to slow down, look closely, and see the world through new perspectives while practicing critical thinking skills that carry back to the classroom. Whether they are exploring the galleries, participating in a tour, or spending time in the historically significant gardens, students are asking questions, sharing ideas, and supporting their ideas with evidence, helping them make connections across every subject.
Whether you’re teaching language arts, social studies, science, math, or visual arts, a guided tour of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens brings classroom learning to life. Through close looking and docent-guided conversations, students learn to ask thoughtful questions, consider different perspectives, and support their ideas with evidence. These critical thinking skills help students analyze information, communicate their ideas, and make meaningful connections across subjects. Our standards-aligned guided tours are easy to incorporate into your curriculum and give students a memorable way to connect with what they’re learning at school.

Refunds
To ensure accurate billing, groups are required to submit payment after their visit using the final invoice provided by the Museum. The final invoice reflects the actual attendance on the day of the tour, so groups are charged only for the participants who attend. For this reason, payment is not accepted on the day of the tour.
Refunds for overpayments will only be issued when the overpaid amount exceeds $50, as smaller overpayments do not offset the administrative costs associated with processing a refund.

Please bring 2 adult chaperones for each touring group.
Guided in-person tours are 60 minutes. School groups of up to 60 students are $120 per touring group of 15 students.
Guided live virtual tours allow students to explore five to seven artworks and the gardens up close from the comfort of their classroom. Guided virtual tours last 60 minutes. $100 per classroom. Arts Access Scholarships are available.

Arts Access Scholarships help remove financial barriers to participation. Funding for these scholarships is made possible through the generous support of the following partners: Jennifer Glock and Michael Ward, Community First Cares Foundation, Rosenberg Family Foundation, and The Next Generation Foundation.
To help ensure access to Museum programs, schools and groups may apply for scholarship support to cover tour fees and/or transportation costs. Scholarship funding is limited and awarded based on demonstrated need and available funds.
Scholarship support is prioritized for schools and groups demonstrating financial need and limited access to arts enrichment opportunities. Eligibility is determined based on factors such as Title I status, percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, transportation barriers, and prior access to Museum programming.
Schools and groups seeking scholarship support should indicate their request when submitting a tour reservation form. Scholarship requests are reviewed in conjunction with tour reservations and are subject to eligibility requirements, funding availability, and tour capacity. Applicants will be notified of their scholarship status once their request has been reviewed by Museum staff. Questions regarding scholarship opportunities or eligibility may be directed to reservations@cummermuseum.org prior to submitting a reservation form.
As a condition of receiving scholarship support, recipients are required to complete a post-tour survey following their visit. Survey responses help the Museum evaluate program impact and support future scholarship funding. Schools and groups that do not complete the survey may be ineligible for future Arts Access Scholarship opportunities.
Schools and groups are responsible for arranging and paying for transportation in advance. To receive transportation reimbursement, please complete the following within 14 days of your tour date:
Once both items have been received and reviewed, a reimbursement check (up to $250) will be processed and mailed directly to your school or group's bookkeeper. Please allow up to 21 days from submission for the check to be received.
Scholarship funding allows schools and groups to participate without paying the standard tour deposit. Because scholarship funds and tour capacity are limited, we ask scholarship recipients to honor their reservation. Groups that cancel within 24 hours of their scheduled tour or fail to attend without notice will be charged the standard deposit fee of $50 to offset administrative and scheduling costs. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may affect eligibility for future scholarship opportunities.
The Museum offers a variety of professional development opportunities for educators and community program staff. Let us work with you to explore creative ways to connect you and your students to art and gardens.
