The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens was established in 1958, when art collector, garden enthusiast, and civic leader, Ninah Cummer bequeathed her art collection and riverfront home to create a museum that would be “a center of beauty and culture” for the benefit of “all of the people.”
It is the Cummer Museum of Art and Garden’s Mission to engage and inspire through the arts, gardens, and education. We believe that art can unite communities and inspire creativity, sincerity, and kindness.
