The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens hosts a free “Family Literacy Night at the Cummer Museum,” bringing together local families for an evening of reading and art ahead of winter break. Families are invited to enjoy hands-on experiences that nurture a love of books and creativity.

This holiday season, the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens invites families to make new memories together through festive programs designed to
spark connection, creativity, and fun.

 The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is celebrating the season of giving with two special shopping experiences designed to delight visitors and support the Museum’s ongoing mission. 

Opening Oct. 24, “Andrew Wyeth at Kuerner Farm: The Eye of the Earth” and “Calida Rawles: Away with the Tides” showcase the enduring connection between place and memory through the work of two artists separated by generations but united in their exploration of meaningful landscapes.

The Board of Trustees of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens announces it has appointed Kimberly “Kim” Noble, MBA, CFM to be the museum’s new George W. and Kathleen I. Gibbs Director and Chief Executive Officer. Noble has been serving as the Cummer Museum’s interim director and CEO since May 2025. She was officially appointed to the position by the board after an analysis of her successful performance leading the museum as interim.

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is honored to announce the gift of 18 works of art from the estate of longtime museum supporters and community philanthropists Helen M. and Edward W. Lane, Jr. The works will be on display in a dedicated installation from August 15, 2025 – January 11, 2026 before being incorporated into other collection galleries, enhancing the museum’s renowned collection of more than 5,000 objects from ancient Egypt through the present day.

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens today announced the return of its annual Summer at the Cummer event series, held on Friday evenings from May 30, 2025 through June 20, 2025.

The Board of Trustees of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens announced today that it has accepted the retirement notice submitted by Andrea Barnwell Brownlee, PhD, the George W. and Kathleen I. Gibbs Director and CEO. Her retirement will be effective May 1, 2025. The Cummer Museum’s current chief financial officer, Kimberly Noble, MBA, CFM will serve as interim director and CEO while a national search is conducted for a permanent successor.

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens presents Knowing the West, the first major traveling exhibition to embrace and explore the American West as a place shaped by people of many nations and life experiences. Knowing the West will be on view from March 28, 2025 until August 31, 2025.
