Hat-making Demonstration with Artist Hallie Dufresne

Watch Hallie Dufresne of H. Dufresne Atelier weave her magic! Using a century-old machine and time-tested techniques, she transforms straw braid into stunning hats – just like some of the ones on display in the exhibition Sporting Fashion: Outdoor Girls 1800 to 1960. With a background crafting theatrical headpieces for film and stage, Hallie now creates custom vintage-inspired hats in her Springfield studio, ensuring both style and comfort. Come witness Hallie’s whimsical touch on classic silhouettes!
