Pruning for Healthy, Beautiful Gardens

Join the Cummer Museum’s Gardens & Horticulture staff for a hands-on workshop exploring the art and science of pruning. Learn how proper pruning can support plant health, improve structure, encourage flowering, and extend the life of trees, shrubs, and vines.

Workshop Schedule
9 to 9:45 a.m. | Introduction and Indoor/Outdoor Classroom Session
Learn the fundamentals of pruning, including when to prune, how to choose the right tools, and which techniques best support different types of plants.

10 a.m. to Noon | Guided Garden Demonstration
Walk through the Cummer Gardens with the Gardens & Horticulture staff as you learn pruning techniques on a variety of plants and discuss how those methods can be applied at home.

Outdoor portions of the workshop are weather permitting.

Garden programming is supported by the Edna Sproull Williams Foundation.
