Artist Talk with Patrick Maxcy: Murals, Water, and Place

Join mural artist Patrick Maxcy for an evening exploring how public art reflects place, sparks conversation, and strengthens community connection. Presented in partnership with Riverside Avondale Preservation (RAP), this talk highlights Maxcy’s recent mural beneath the Fuller Warren Bridge – just next door to the Cummer Museum and where Riverside Arts Market (RAM) takes place – and his mural work across the country.

Through images and conversation, Maxcy will share how the St. Johns River and its wildlife inspired the mural’s imagery, and how storytelling and conservation are central to his practice. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how murals connect art, environment, and the cultural vibrancy of a community.
