Papercutting with Artist Hiromi Moneyhun

Papercut artworks make great home decor or gifts for any occasion. Join award-winning papercut artist Hiromi Moneyhun as she shares techniques to create your own unique papercut. No experience required.

Using a template and the correct cutting tools, a papercut artist transforms a single piece of paper into a two or three-dimensional artwork. Ancient in its origin, papercutting holds strong in a contemporary setting. Common types of papercutting include tessellation, tiling, pattern cutting, silhouette cutting, and freeform.

This workshop will be making kyo-uchiwa, Japanese paddle fans with papercuts inspired by Cummer’s permanent collection of Eugene Savage paintings.
