Dive into the world of Overstreet Ducasse, the current exhibiting artist in the Museum’s Concourse Gallery, during an intimate discussion between the artist and Adam Levine, PhD.
A few words about the work from Overstreet:
“Most of this series was painted during 2019. A study of artist Dolf James’ wood and metal sculptures. These mix media paintings was created using materials that were given to me by dolf james. Some of the objects were found in other artist studios at CoRK and some were found outside in the CoRK yard. Goal is to create a still life version of his sculptures by using his palette (painted woodenboxes). To make a flat heat of plywood appear as 3d sculpture and a sheet metal as a 3d sculpture as well. Similar to Warhol, I have taken a shape and some preexisting palettes and recreated it to see different perspectives. It's a tribute to Dolf, who I call the Duval Warhol.”
