The Human Figure:
Sculptures by Enzo Torcoletti

Saturday, September 21, 2013 to Sunday, October 19, 2014

The J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Community Sculpture Garden & Plaza, located in the front lawn of the Art Connections building, opens with the inaugural exhibition, The Human Figure: Sculptures by Enzo Torcoletti. St. Augustine-based sculptor Enzo Torcoletti is internationally recognized for his stone works. Born and raised in Italy, Torcoletti recalls being inspired by Roman ruins and fragments he saw there as a child. Today, his work is largely inspired by the female torso in its most streamlined and elegant form. More than a sensual image, Torcoletti celebrates the shape for its association with ancient idols and icons. He also enjoys the challenge of working with stone — honoring its material integrity while still trying to push its boundaries.
