UPDATE: Concert location change to Riverside Arts Market space
Channel the feel of 20s, 30s, and 40s Paris with the French Horn Collective, an energetic and progressive band that performs an eclectic variety of Gypsy Jazz, Swing, and original French music.
As you may know, the historic Cummer Gardens, an integral part of the Museum and the Garden Concert experience were badly damaged by Hurricane Irma. The Museum is currently in the process of raising funds to reconstruct the gardens, so that they may once again serve as a center of beauty for the community. In the meantime, Museum staff has been working to continue with as much garden programming as possible during the reconstruction effort. This Fall Garden Concert is one of those programs. Thankfully, the Museum's supporters at the City of Jacksonville have allowed us to use the Riverside Arts Market beneath the Fuller Warren Bridge, next door to the Museum at 715 Riverside Avenue, for the concert. This space houses a stage, electricity, and restroom facilities, while still providing a view of the river and convenient proximity to the Museum so that concert attendees can view the exhibitions if they wish.
There are a few changes to note, given the shift in location:
- Check-in areas will be available at the Front Desk and Art Connections Desk at the Museum, as well as at RAM.
- Concert attendees should bring chairs, as the space under the bridge is not conducive to laying down a picnic blanket and seating is very limited.
- Prepaying for tickets through the website is the most convenient way to purchase tickets to the concert, but for those wishing to pay for tickets the night of the event, the Front Desk and Art Connections Desk at the Museum will be able to process debit, credit, cash, and checks, while the entrance to RAM will be able to accept only cash or checks.
- Parking will be available in the Cummer Museum visitor lots with additional limited parking available under the bridge at RAM.
As is usually the case for Garden Concerts, the galleries and the Museum will be open for concert attendees that evening. We invite guests to bring their own food and beverages. Guests who have pre-ordered food from the Cummer Café will have the ability to pick it up at RAM. All food orders must be pre-paid. The Cummer Café will not be setting up a cash bar for this event.
Please know that your continued participation in Museum programs contributes to the restoration of the gardens. Thank you for your support of the Cummer Museum during this difficult time.
